Tell us about your previous experience?

Acquiring a Diploma in Mountaineering from Alaska (USA) and learning advanced techniques of snowcraft, Ice Climbing and Rock Climbing from Govt of Himachal Pradesh, Department of Mountaineering and allied Sports, successfully got me placed in Indian Air Force, one of the most prestigious institutions in India. I have of 29 years of experience with them, during which I carried out the general duties of administration and HR.  I also held an Office Superintendent position in Air Force Adventure Cell. Was responsible for the conduct of adventure activities for children and adults at various Air Force bases there. I was awarded Vayu Sena Medal (Gallantry) by Hon’ble A. P. J Abdul Kalam in 2006. I have also successfully summited the highest peaks of six continents, including Mt. Everest, as part of the “Mission Seven Summits Expedition.”

How is the typical day at Skyview by Empyrean?

I have a very disciplined start to my day at 6 a.m. with exercise and a walk around the lush green property. It aligns me with the day of adventure at this destination of endless experiences.  After the operational checks at 9 a.m., I mark the activity points that may go into operation and the ones that must go for maintenance. The ones in operation are in the best working condition and to this point have never encountered a glitch mid-operation. I usually end my day at 7 p.m. for an early start the next morning.

What do you do in your free time?

Adventure at Skyview by Empyrean has a huge footfall, so I rarely get a free hour. If I ever come across a free slot, I invest my time in looking at the industry safety standards and practises that can be brought in to add more value to the visitor experience. After my work hours, I also set aside an hour to speak with my friends and family at home.
